This afternoon we listened to ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’ by Strauss. We used closed our eyes and thought about where the music took us and what it reminded us of. We created artwork based on this!
Have you heard this piece of music before? If so, what did it make you think of?
We had a fantastic day at the farm today! We started by making our own artwork out of natural things that we could find. These were inspired by our artist, Paul Klee.
Next, we made scones in the barn! Farmer Derek showed us how to churn butter which was very exciting. We all had a go at churning it ourselves and ate the butter on our scones!
Finally, we did an obstacle course and we had to direct our partner through! This is because we will be looking at positional language in Numeracy this week! This was Andrew’s favourite part of the day!
Do you know how to make butter?
This afternoon we have been looking at paintings by our class artist, Paul Klee. We used paints to try and recreate his artwork. It was lots of fun and we think we did a great job!
Paul Klee likes using different colours. What is your favourite colour?
In PE, we have been practising our throwing and catching so that we can take part in the whole school rugby competition! We were throwing small balls in the air and trying to catch them, remembering not to take our eyes off the ball! Then we practised in pairs.
What have you been doing in other classes to prepare for the rugby competition? Leave your answers in a comment.
